I want to thank everybody who visited and commented, I'm very flattered by the reaction. In barely 4 hours of our existence we got more responses then hysteria induced missionary blog Anderson Cooper 360 Review. You won't even see crickets and spiders there. ATA is well ahead of the game. How do you get as many comments daily as they do? Let's do a little math. Multiply 6 mods by 3 comments. On a good day a mod at ata comments at least 3 times a post, and we get a staggering 24 comments! This is all made up by quality. We will be presenting some of anderfans brilliance in the Blogger Quotables.
"You are right, we should respect his privacy. I only wish I knew if he was circumcised or not..." by Peter
"You know it wasn't fair to put the two things I am most attracted to together: Andy Baby and a puppy!!" by Cha cha
"I really am not interested in Walter (Cronkite), so I just stared at Anderson and watched how he reacted to him and stuff" by Lynne
"My mother instincts have kicked in. I feel like a mama duck defending her baby duck against a whole horde of snakes in this particular instance. That's pretty much how Anderson strikes me- someone that needs protecting." by Newsjunkie

Congratulations. So far so good. Circumcised or not I just spit my monitor!
That baby comment is just creepy! Perfect candidate for To Catch a Predator.
@anonymous--
Good. I'm not the only one. I'll have to remember not to have anything liquid in my mouth when I read this blog!
And, yes...especially given the all out creepiness of Arbus' portrait to BEGIN with, any added creepy overtones aren't so good.

YAY for Newsjunkie! You rock! I am forever telling everyone I know...If they made ME Anderson's bodyguard, no one would get near him. I'd scare even his stalkers! :)

Oh how I hope this blog turns out to be as delicious as I think it will be. (I'm a big fan of AC. Rabid fangurl/boi stalker craziness..not so much.) Cheers!
Hilarious!!! especially that one of Peter.
I agree there's a lot of whack jobs out there, but I'm not sure how or why you put AC360 Review into the same category as all the drool blogs, or where you get "hysteria induced" from. And just because there aren't a lot of commenters there (after all, people seem to lose the desire to comment when it doesn't involve commiserating over his new tie or something) doesn't mean she doesn't get a lot of readers. I think her writing's clever and she's very honest about the quality of the show (doesn't hesitate to criticize when it's called for, which is fairly often). She even got an interview with Gary Tuchman, who said he's a regular reader of her blog; seems like a ringing endorsement to me. So I'm curious what your beef with that site is.
Saphron makes me think of Mellow Yellow, which Rove definitely is not. And I see that hell is on local time.
@ duffy--
You said: (about the AC360 Review)
"(after all, people seem to lose the desire to comment when it doesn't involve commiserating over his new tie or something)"
This is, sadly, true. I used to write for a blog that did live commentary, and I commented more on the news, rather than what he was wearing, and I noticed that, when some of the newer contributors would blog and be fangirly (i.e. "OMG! My fave tie!" or "DID YOU SEE THAT CUTE FACE HE JUST MADE???"), they would garner the most comments. It was just sad. :( AC 360 is so much more than what he's wearing that night....
Thanks for the heads up about AC360 Review. I'll have to check it out...and wow! GARY TUCHMAN reads it? That is awesome. Thanks for the info. :)

Aw, look - how cute. Another spiteblog. Well, you can never have too many spiteblogs, I guess.
You know, Cooper inspires a hell of a lot of spite for a seemingly nice guy. Bet his mom is proud.
Thank you all for commenting! I'm happy you liked the quotes as much as I did!
@anon 1:09
Wow, other spiteful blogs? You mean ATA? If not, can you give a link? Thank you so much for your comment, with comments like this we will always have more material for our blogger quotables!
@Duffy
"not a lot of commenters" is an understatement. Sure, recapping cnn transcripts is a serious thing, and they take themselves very very seriously. One word: Interngate!
AC360 Review is a great blog, it doesn't matter if Eliza doesn't get a whole lot of traffic, she's really smart and no b.s. about the show and its topics.
Just do your thing and try not to make this blog all about how much you hate the OTHER blogs because that's boring.
Just do your thing and try not to make this blog all about how much you hate the OTHER blogs because that's boring.
Anon434, you seem to have missed the point. This is a blog ABOUT how much the blogger hates other blogs. You may find it boring, but apparently the blogger and her cliche think it's hilarious.
Although... doggie fanfic? Kind of girlie, don't you think? Definitely a Molly Sue. Oh well, maybe she'll get as many readers as that classic fangirlie opus, the AnderChronicles, and then she can feel good about herself again.
DOWN GIRL!
someone seems sensitive, PMS?
I don't hate blogs, my master used to laugh of all the stupid things they write, but now he gets mad and screams at me. Not funny anymore.
Oh no. I'm sensing the disturbing presence of Sharla Dawn on this blog. In the name of all things holy, I pray it's not true!
@anon 4:34
I just checked the First Amendment, it says something about freedom of speech and nothing about boredom
Since it's already been stated elsewhere that the sole purpose of this blog is to mock other blogs then have at it, it really doesn't matter to me one way or the other.
@anon 6:30
Sharla? Really? That kind of batshit insane is usually a little clearer than the random wankery we're getting here. I miss her on Freaks, though; that blog turned into such a steaming pile of crap since her and Christiane took it over (Courtney seemed way too intelligent to let either of them do that to her site, but alas). But now that Sharla has left the intertubes, I've lost my daily dose of entertainment.
@1:12
I always thought Freaks is Christiane's site, that she started it. Got some scoop?
Fraid I don't. I may very well be wrong, but I thought Courtney actually started it, or maybe they co-started it, and then she sort of faded into the background. Which is too bad, because her posts were generally very news focused and well written, whereas Christiane's are . . . not.
@anon 3:44
I don't have any scoop on freaks, but the only thing I know is that the mod Christiane is not a native English speaker so cut her some slack, at least she is better than other bloggers, I don't think you would be any better in Portuguese
@anon 11:17, I wasn't referring to her English; I know she's not a native speaker and that's fine. I was referring to the way she trashes all other fans as somehow inferior to herself and then goes and does exactly what she claims to hate (see today's post on this blog for a great example), and also for the way she continuously lifts entire blocks of text bodily from other sites without citing. She claims "fair use," but really, plagiarism is plagiarism, and if she's really works in news as she claims, she ought to know better. Even after people pointed it out to her, she continued to do it.
So really, it's those two huge glaring issues, and not whether or not she can spell, that make her look so bad.
I want to welcome jr, pol, raggazzi, christiane, duffy, your left nut and all the anons
@1:12
You made my day! You know, random wankery can be rather a pleasant thing. Oh, that's right, you probably can't relate...
@anon 12:33am--
Good point here about Freaks: "I was referring to the way she trashes all other fans as somehow inferior to herself and then goes and does exactly what she claims to hate (see today's post on this blog for a great example), and also for the way she continuously lifts entire blocks of text bodily from other sites without citing. She claims "fair use," but really, plagiarism is plagiarism, and if she's really works in news as she claims, she ought to know better. Even after people pointed it out to her, she continued to do it."
And let us NOT FORGET the HUGE diatribe about "Why Stalking Is Completely Wrong"....and then go to post "mock-ups" of Anderson's new apartment--which were commissioned by him, of course...which left me with a question: Why would a man who guards his private life like Fort Knox allow this? Funny, too, was that no other blog (except Gawker, and we all know what a pile of trash that is) picked up on it, I can't find the SOURCE (which was, strangely, lacking in mention), and I have looked everywhere. Only because I heard that this information--about the mock-ups being posted--was forwarded to him and he had someone tell whoever forwarded him the head's up that they are, indeed, fake. I just like to have all of my facts straight.
And, as far as the whole plagiarism thing....let's talk about copyright infringment, while we're at it. I've never understood...how can you NOT share something that DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE...because people accuse you of stealing *their* shit? (Not just at Freaks, but pretty much everywhere. People post stuff they find in public arenas--like Getty Images and the like--then get pissed when someone else uses them. Um, the only people who are "allowed" to get pissed are the venues that host the images, and the photographer who TOOK the image, or produced the clip that's on YouTube, or whatever. And you don't see THAT happening, now do you? Let's get a reality check people...just because you MAY find something out there before anyone else...it doesn't mean you now own the rights to it. Dag.
