Thanks to all the visitors of Blogging Anderson Cooper, we appreciate your input! Some of your comments reminded me not to forget Freakspeakers. For all the media literacy preaching Christiane still can't learn to use a spell-check. After hysterical ups and downs of Sharla Dawn Jones, don't you love it when Freaks complain that for fangirls "it's the messenger, not the message", "We also have stated and critiqued how people just watch CNN to see Anderson Cooper, not news. How his presence ... have become the "noise" to the message, diminishing the content, and somehow even himself becoming the content...". I waited for the next lesson in media.
It came two days later -- Christiane posted 73 (!) scereencaps of the Coop talking with the serious tv & radio show host Ryan Seacrest. Those 3 posts didn't tell me anything about the message in that radio show, but maybe it’s best to leave us guessing. I imagine they had enough airtime to go into in details about who's tie is bigger.
ATA soon proved Christiane is just spewing hatred towards anderfans. Forget the message and the messenger. Frau Phebe went great lengths to pay our attention to the important part of war coverage: the insects! And of course, the screencaps:
"I’m a terrible person, I admit it. I couldn't stop watching that damn fly that kept landing on Michael Gordon’s face, while he was trying to discuss security in Iraq. I circled the fly in red but it's kinda hard to see.I had to relisten to the interview from my recording because I got nothing out of it the first time around. All I could watch was the fly!" Anderloads and Anderson Cooper 360 Review shouldn't be on your purgatory links at all. Those are good sites.
OMG! *wipes eyes* This post made me laugh so hard, that it brought tears to my eye.
Yet another lesson that if you're going to say "Hey, I watch CNN FOR THE NEWS (not that HOT GUY with the great facial structure, nice ties, and big beautiful eyes! No! NOT ME!)", you'd better refrain from posting pictures (she posted ALL of them??? Geez. Even other places just posted the link!) of said hot guy on an LA Radio show. And, oh , yeah, talking about a fly on some guy's face, rather than the fact that he was taking about the Pentagon report, and how it would impact the current course of the war. Um, superficial much? (Yeah, I noticed the fly, too, and felt bad for Michael Gordon, but I didn't notice it SO MUCH that I had to go back and rewatch the segment. I got it all the first time. AH, well...discerning minds, I guess. *snort*)
And would SOMEONE please fill me in on the Sharla Dawn Jones thing? This is the second time that it's been mentioned, and my curiosity is totally piqued. WHO is she? WHERE was she? WHAT DID SHE DO????
Thanks. Once my curiosity calms down, I'll finally be able to sleep. LOL
@anonymous--
Purgatory isn't necessarily a BAD thing...it's just somewhere in the middle. And, Anderloads isn't available to the "general public". Evidently, it's one of those Anderson Cooper Country Clubs (by referral only), that you know, MOST of us aren't good enough to join. Elitist, much? *clicks tongue* That is just sad.

Andie. I can't give you the whole story on Sharla Dawn Jones but here's what I know. She used to post at Freakspeakers. Her posts were a little odd but basically OK at first. Then she seemed to get really angry at Anderson for no apparent reason. I think most of her comments were posted on her blog which I didn't read. I suspect Christane finally asked her to stop posting at Freakspeakers. The only conclusion that I can come to is that she was angry at Anderson because she was attracted to him and knew she couldn't have him. Just my guess though.
SDJ is an fan that has some very serious issues going on in her life.
She would post at the Freaks and on the 360 blog. Some of the posts were crazy. She is a self-admitted alcoholic and internet addict.
They she posted something and it got picked up by Datalounge and she was overwhelmed. She had her own blog and that is now down.
SDJ did v-blogs on YouTube. She has a lot of issues she is working on. Along then came a song she wrote for Carter Cooper. It was very sad and still may be out on YouTube via her name.
I really hope and pray that Anderson nor his mother never, ever saw that video.
I also hope and pray at SDJ gets the help that she needs too. Obviously she is reaching out for some help.
I wish her all the best and hope and pray she finds the real help she needs at home or with
in-person help not via the internet. Right now SJD needs some love and compassion.
@ all who answered my question about SDJ--
That makes me feel sad. I have known alot of people with similar issues, and have seen them get the help they so desperately need, and then they are...well, it helps.
I know that there are quite a few unbalanced people who "like" Anderson, and that must be scary for him. I know it scares ME sometimes--based on my own personal experience with the issue of stalkers--and I don't deal with it in my own life anymore.
I just hope these people can get the help the desperately need, before they hurt themselves, or someone else.

It's not elitist in the least.
SDJ had problems but it's hard to feel sympathetic because she was such a belligerent, vicious and foul mouthed person who was always spouting off about how she could beat everyone's ass, which was laughable because there's ALWAYS someone tougher and stronger than you. I hope she stays away from the internet for good.
@ 2:44 PM,
I understand how you feel too and totally understand. SJD by her own admission is a mother of several children.
I always give the benefit of the doubt to mothers with small children. There is much more than I will ever know. That's why I am trying to show her some love and compassion.
Once again, I wish her all the best and hope and pray for her recovery and for her children.
@Angela, you have a wonderful attitude and I admire your ability to be sympathetic towards SDJ, I guess it wouldn't hurt me to attempt to do the same.
@angela--
Your compassion and open mindedness is awesome to see. :) I think, these days, people are all to ready to judge someone adversely, especially when it comes to someone who is very obviously mentally unstable. Until you know that person, and what their issues are, it's impossible to know what it's like to walk a mile in their shoes. Theoretically, and I think many people forget this, that could be any of us. It's a very fine line that separates the "sane" from the "insane" It all really depends on what's going on in your life, and the tools you have to deal with those things. Some people just don't have those tools, but that's no reason to discriminate.
Again, thank you for being so forthright with me about SDJ, and presenting the story without bias. :)

For anon 3:57, saying that Anderloads is a good site is like saying Bush is a good President...I'd go meaner but don't want to offend anyone.
@ 2:44 and Andie:
Thanks for your note. I learned this philosophy called compassion years and years ago.
With regards to folks who may be unclear or hurting, I remember clearly he words of Anderson Cooper, "the world has many edges, and all of us dangle from them by a very delicate thread. The key is not to let go."
Page 207 -- Dispatches from the Edge.
Think about your own personal life and all of us have issues. Many of us have issues we should be working on. I have issues I am working on to help me become a better person.
Just think of what you can personally do to make the world a better place by your own thoughts, your own deeds and your own actions.
@ Angela--
Truer words were never spoken. We all have things we can improve upon to make us better people, and to confront those issues--in and of themselves--makes us better people. It's the people who think they are set in that regard, that have a real problem. Then, one gets complacent, apathetic towards the needs and suffering of others, and everything gets convoluted. I'd rather care too MUCH, than care too little.
I've been that way my whole life, but seeing Anderson for the first time, when he was in Somalia in 1992, was something that made me realise that I was, indeed, on the right path with being a compassionate, feeling person.
I was working on a story that I might submit for publication. Part of it seems apropos to this discussion...
"Sometimes, you can't take things at face value. You have to dig deep, find the genesis. See what makes people tick. And in this rough-and-tumble world, where people move about as completely separate entities, each person not really wanting to connect with the other, there aren't many people who are willing to do much more than scrape the surface."
And I believe that. It's ALWAYS worth it to take the time to find out what's really going on with someone, as best you can, BEFORE you rush to judgment. Anderson's right..."the world has many edges, and all of us dangle from them by a very delicate thread, the key is not to let go.".

SDJ was a blog hog on Freakspeakers just like andie c is on this blog.
@ anonymous 10:31--
Oh, was that supposed to HURT? Sorry to disappoint. It didn't. And, I prefer the term "blog WHORE", thank you very much. But, the rhyming but was cute. I hope you didn't induce a cerebral hemmorhage trying to come up with it. That would be truly sad for you. It sounds like it was really hard for you...attempting cleverness. *ding* You're out of the bee. Try again next year.
I say what I think. Deal with it.
