Hausfraus in the Twilight Zone

Blogging Anderson Copper is a week old, we're making baby steps in the blog world. Thank you all for your comments, stories and tips! A commenter asked why we blog about Anderson's fans, don't mention fans of Johnny Depp or Stephen Colbert, and suggested: “Maybe you can have special entries mocking how pathetic and stupid Make a Wish foundation kids are”. How sweet. Hausfraus are comparing themselves to 2.5 to 18 year-old kids with life-threatening medical conditions. Now we have something to make fun of -- sick kids! It's appalling to talk about hausfraus who don't give a rat's ass who to obsess about -- actors and entertainers, news people or their pets.

Mature hausfraus are flocking to fanblogs so they can play 'kick the can' and think they are kids again. They believe internet is a sandbox where they are left to play by themselves and nobody is watching! I can't think of any journalist other then Anderson who's fans are so rabid and create so much drama. Some time ago ATA mod Phebe "discovered that he has one of the most creative, and occasionally snarky, group of fans in the world". Truly, they deserve undivided attention.

They like to look at the pretty, what's wrong with that?

Anonymous said...

Looking at the pretty is fine, I like pretty.

I don't mind good-humored fangurling, or fanboying.

The pretty attracts it, but it also attracts the crazy.

I don't like the crazy.

Anonymous said...

Some of the fangurl haters are pretty crazy themselves.

Anonymous said...

You guys are linked to DL in an AC thread. Someone even included pictures of some real hausfraus at his book-signing!

Anonymous said...

They are referred to as ANDERCOWS. Hausfraus, Andercows, whatever toots.

Anonymous said...

Now....this is fangurl crazy stuff.....

http://www.mediabistro.com/bbs/cache/t34422_1.asp

Anderson just must have to laugh at this stuff if and when he would ever see it. It is BEYOND ridiculous!

I smell Interngate?? Anyone else concur?? It is sad and so, so pitiful.

@ Lunacy:

Love your graphics! Is that supposed to be Phebe??

Anonymous said...

WTF? Is that the same hausfrau at ATA?

Anonymous said...

The insane person at 7:06's link steals screennames of various people who have an interest in AC. This person hates his fans, which made me think they are a key member of this blog.

Anonymous said...

yah, it's the crazy-ass nick-stealer, aka therealcooperite aka acfan aka athenatroy aka christiane.

hey, wouldn't it be funny if the nick-stealer WAS Christiane, pretending to nick-steal her own nick? I know she's been pretending she's Betty Ann on the 360 blog, so it's in her repetoire.

Anonymous said...

The "nick-stealer's" particular brand of crazy goes beyond anything Christiane could ever come up with. We're talking insane asylum level nuttiness here.

Anonymous said...

You think, anon8:23?

What is the hallmark of the nick-stealer? her insane obsession with that sinister svengali, Jon Klein. It's Klein interfering with Anderson's lovelife that is keeping them apart, apparently - if not for that evil Jon Klein, Anderson would no doubt be in a healthy, heterosexual relationship, probably with her. Jon Klein is the devil!

And when you go to the freakspeakers cafepress shop, what do you find? "Impeach Jon Klein" memorabilia.

I suppose it's remotely possible that TWO crazy Anderson Cooper fans have sick obsessions about a network executive that 99.9999% of viewers have never heard of. But at some point, even amazing coincidences become "what an amazing coincidence, nudge nudge wink wink".

The freaks also have a fine line of Betty Ann mockery products, or they did - I notice they've removed much of their product lines, or perhaps sold out? And how twisted do you have to be to enjoy pillorying a woman whose sole crime is to post comments (admittedly inane) on a public blog? Crazy Sharla even went so far as to compile a DOSSIER on her... to make sure she wasn't a 'danger to Anderson'. Betty Ann... a danger to Anderson??? What reality are these people inhabiting?

So you can see why it might not be a huge stretch to wonder, just maybe...

8:23 PM,

We're talking insane asylum level nuttiness here. Well, said ANON! They really need to pull this post down.

This is looney bin stuff. In the old days, you would get hospitalized for this non-sense. Who has the time and energy to compile all this nutty data and then post this crazy shit?

The more I read the more I feel sorry for Anderson and other celebrities. I hope Anderson laughs his ass of if and when he would ever see this stuff.

Okay, well, he has a skinny and nice booty. Heck, it does not need to get any smaller. No, I have not seen it in person. Just on TV and on my set, the man is thin. Anyone that works in TV, knows the camera adds 10 pounds.

Anonymous said...

@anon 10:49, you make some very interesting points and now I'm rethinking my assessment of Christiane and the Freaks.

@anon 10:52, you said it. It must take an enormous amount of time to dredge up all of that insane crap about AC and Jon Klein, you HAVE to be a complete nut to do it and I don't have a clue what triggered the whole thing.

Anonymous said...

Oh, btw - it was also Christiane who convinced everyone (including everyone on THIS lovely blog) that the girl of the phone call was faking cancer.

Let me ask you a simple question. How could she possible know that? Answer - neither she or anyone else online could know either way.

what are you going to do, email someone and tell them to cough up the xrays or they'd be called a liar? No, Christiane just stated it for a fact and everyone believed it. Because they wanted to believe it, so they could feel superior to a fangurl, as if they're not all fangurls themselves.

Anonymous said...

@anon 11:44

The whole presenting of rumor or belief as fact is so common on these blogs, and it amazes me how people just take it all at face value. I was wondering the same thing--how could anyone possibly know she was faking? I mentioned this in another thread but it really bothers me so I'll mention it here too--how does anyone really know what happened with the intern? God, it got its own noun in the anderworld, and the whole thing's so absurd--everyone but a very small informed few (who have not and probably never will actually speak on it) is going off rumors told by others or by themselves, things that were either made up or yanked off a gossip site. Unless they read the Huffpost piece, in which case they wouldn't be calling that girl a stalker or accusing her of sexual harassment at work or whatever other BS is flying around. Everyone just wants to feel above her. Kinda sad.

Anonymous said...

@11:44

Did mommy tell you smoking crack is bad for you? That story about Lisa71 aka Purple Tie was known before Christiane or Freaks were around, so were half the people that nick stealing nutjob mentions. You can't have any clue who the anons are, only mod can, and I doubt even that.

Anonymous said...

Did mommy tell you smoking crack is bad for you?

I love the way you elevate the level of discourse, 'anon'. What are you, twelve?

Amen sister!

Anonymous said...

How interesting, the only people who "know" the truth about the intern all belong Anderloads, so the truth will never be known and really, who cares?

Either way, the woman got a raw deal from CNN for a naive mistake she made and then was gossiped about all over the anderworld by her "friend" Eliza. What nice people you all are to make fun of someone for that.

I guess none of you've never made a mistake before.

Anonymous said...

7:52 & 10:49 is the "real cooperite" crazy The Nick Stealer used nicks of a few different people, Christiane was her latest pick, so now she/he takes one step further and claims Christiane is the one writing all that crap about everybody. "So it's in her repetoire" -that Crazy's, whoever is behind all the insane rants is pretending she or he is someone else.

Anonymous said...

@anon 9:51

Eliza didn't "gossip." She made a single factual post that obviously had the input of the intern herself, given the list of first names she had at the end thanking people. The gossip came from someone sending stuff to Jossip, who linked her post and lied all over the story. They claimed Eliza used the intern's insider info on her posts, which in ten minutes you could discover for yourself she most certainly did not; if they're lying about something you could so obviously fact check, I very much doubt the veracity of anything else they said, either. Plus, Huffpo got to see the intern's journal entries too, and wrote about them as completely innocuous (and called Eliza's entry impassioned and heartfelt).

I am totally with you, though, on everyone else running with the rumors and trashing on this girl for something they really know little to nothing about.

Anonymous said...

The longer I'm a fan of Anderson and his work the scarier the Anderworld becomes.

Anonymous said...

@5:18

If intern wanted everything to be known outside of Anderloads, why didn't she post herself?

Anonymous said...

@anon 5:15

It wasn't some nameless crazy snickering over pretending to be Betty Ann on the blog--it was logged-in and authenticated Christiane in the comments over at Freaks bragging about having done it. And I doubt that therealcooperite broke into the Freakspeakers' Cafepress account and made impeach-Jon-Klein tchotkes...

Anonymous said...

Thank you anon 5:18 for getting the story right. I hate to see good people like Eliza and the intern being trashed. They do not deserve it.

Anonymous said...

@anon 6:33

Where would she post that it would be seen by the people at CNN she wanted it to be seen by (she was addressing people she worked with specifically at the bottom of Eliza's post)? Presumably she felt that Eliza's blog was the best place to do that. Do you really think that Eliza just randomly made up a bunch of names and the floors where these people worked pretending to be speaking for the intern? And if so, would Gary Tuchman have then gone and done an interview on Eliza's blog? Somehow, I highly doubt that.

Anonymous said...

@6:38

Eliza was the one who posted that information, the intern could write it herself if she wanted her story to be known and ask Eliza or ATA to post it on thier blog. Eliza had access to any of the interns posts as a member of Anderloads. ATA got interviews not though CNN's PR department, Eliza could follow their steps.

Anonymous said...

I ment to say ATA got interviews not through that intern

Anonymous said...

@anon 7:59

I never said she got interviews through the intern. I'm just saying that if she posted lies, then CNN wouldn't have granted the interview she got. And I don't understand how it isn't completely obvious that the intern helped her write that post. I read the intern's journal posts and she never named names; Eliza got the names in that post directly from the intern, and not from the intern's posts. The intern posted through Eliza's forum so she'd be seen by the people she wanted to see it; presumably, she didn't have a forum of her own that she felt was sufficient. The intern had her own words featured on Eliza's post and Eliza even offered to be a middleman if anyone from CNN wanted to communicate with her. It could not be any clearer that Eliza was operating with explicit permission and cooperation from the intern when she made that post.

You forgot to include Arachnae

Anonymous said...

intern=29 year old housefrau who stalked Anderson Cooper, wrote about his every move and travel itinerary in her "journal" and posted it on Anderloads to get attention. Luckily, CNN found out and put a stop to it.

Eliza=friend of said intern, made matters worse.

Anderloads mods=encouraged intern to which ultimately got her in trouble.

No sympathy here for any of them. They all knew what they were doing, and got caught.

Anonymous said...

@9:44

And you know this how? Read it on a gossip site? Thought it'd make you feel special to trash them? She wasn't a stalker. If you read her posts, or the huffpo article (and huffpo did read her posts), you'd know she barely ever even saw him.

Anonymous said...

Hey, what ever happened to Molly Barks? I want to hear about her adventures with her master - I'm sure it's more exciting then the AnderChronicles could ever be. Come on, Molly - you know you want to.

Anonymous said...

9:44's probably one of those insane and bitter "nick-stealers" who just post the crazy shit that rolls around non-stop in their head.

Anonymous said...

if you're all so protective over your friend intern why don't you publish her journal to the less special of us to see?

Anonymous said...

Not that I agree with that Anon 9:44, but it's naive to think that someone can't do a search and find all those journal entries made by the intern. Nothing is ever impossible to find or hidden on the internet. If you have half a brain you can find anything.

Wow, she must be psychic then if she really never saw him? How else did she know how many grapes he would eat off the kraft's table? How did she see him taking naps in his office? How did she wait for him in front of the elevator's after his show so she'd get to ride upstairs with him. Maybe it's just good fanfic. Thanks for clearing that up.

Anonymous said...

Silverback,

Not to be rude, but you're saying "If you had half a brain," and yet you got everything like exactly backwards. The intern actually specifically said that she'd either hurry to beat him to the elevator or wait until after he'd gone so he could ride alone because he was shy and seemed to want to be by himself. So if you had half a brain and had actually read the posts, you'd have seen that. As for the naps in his office, I'm pretty sure that was the contest winner who talked about that. I don't ever recall seeing any mention of it on the intern posts, but the contest winner did say that he'd been napping in his office when she got there. And also if you'd read the posts, you'd know the interns' desk was next to the craft service table, so if she's at her desk for the few minutes when Anderson wanders out to eat, it's kind of hard to miss.

Anonymous said...

@silverback, thanks! do tell!

@9:48, it's not about how much she's seen him, it's about how much she wanted to see him. You say Eliza wasn't lying about what happened, I believe she wasn't. You could read about most of what happened in Eliza's post and comments, and the intern talked about it herself in a few places.

Anonymous said...

@11:32

Again, how do you know? When I read those posts, I saw a tremendous excitement for the job she was doing. And yes, she was a fan, and she was excited to meet the man, but 95% of those journal posts were innocuous and almost tediously detailed writings about how to do things like log tape or select b-roll or dub things. Once she started working with the writers, most of the posts had to do with writing and researching for the show. She spent entire posts showing the progression of a lead-in she was being taught to write, from her first attempt to her final. How does any of this get back to her stalking or wanting to stalk Anderson? It's seriously like everyone's just pulling this out of their asses, like they want to believe the worst so they believe whatever some bitter or angry person passes on. Eventually the lie circulates so many times people just take it as gospel. It's absurd.

Anonymous said...

9:44's probably one of those insane and bitter "nick-stealers" who just post the crazy shit that rolls around non-stop in their head.

all rabid defenders of intern and eliza label anybody who dares to disagree with them insane and crazy. I sense Anderloads decided to take over this blog. Hail Merry!

Anonymous said...

@11:52

Not saying insane and crazy. Just saying "look at the facts." I've quoted credible sources. Where are yours? Where are your credible sources (or sources at all) that support the intern as a stalker or crazy or any of the other things you all are calling this poor girl? It seems staggering to me that you could read the Huffington Post article about this whole thing and then still call her any of those names; are you saying the editor of Eat the Press didn't do her homework? I mean come on . . .

Anonymous said...

heh - let's talk about crazy... Let's talk about Christiane sending Sharla to a book signing ... to 'report back on the fangurls'. Noooo, nobody really wanted an autograph or to, you know, see Anderson or anything, they just wanted to amuse themselves with laughing at the fangurls, that's all...

So Sharla reports back, in full machismo, making hearty fun of the book signing attendees' appearance, like the mature woman she is, and makes some speculations on who the stalkers are that are there, while suggesting that she should be his bodyguard. Fox, henhouse? Then, oh well, might as well get an autograph since she's there and all.

And you know what??!?!? She looked into Anderson's eyes and saw... (dun duh DUUUUUN!) Soul Wrenching Despair!

Because, you know, he's having to PRETEND to be gay so the girls will like him (huh?) and it's just eating him alive! Awww, is not that the saddest thing you ever heard?

At this point in the narrative, the MOTHER OF ANDERSON'S CHILD chimed in agreeing with Sharla that it was tragic, tragic that he couldn't just be himself.

Freaks used to be better than a circus.

Oh well - now we have this blog.

and now you can all pick up my poop!

Daddy does!

Anonymous said...

How is this anderloads2, mollybarks? With you commenting, it's more like the Anderchronicles Part 2.

And you can find out an awful lot of the truth by reading the Huffpost article that was done on the intern firing, where the ETP editor read the posts and then talked about the whole thing. I'd like to think the famous professional writer/reporter is much more reliable than random jealous wankers.

Anonymous said...

Molly - don't take offense, please, but that's a really unflattering photo. Your nose takes up two-thirds of your face. Why don't you use a prettier picture?

Anonymous said...

It's easier for some of the people here to toss around insults and sarcastic bullshit than it is to really examine the facts. Just because some people here haven't seen the posts doesn't make them any less truthful. It's already been suggested numerous times that doubters simply check out Huffpo and Eat the Press for the real story, but apparently that's too complex a task to tackle.

Anonymous said...

Heh, some of the media savants here probably don't even know what Huffpost is, anon 4:05. So, for them: Here it is.

Now you can all see some of the intern's 2AM post-14-hour-workday ramblings for yourselves and stop hurling baseless accusations all over the net for once.

Anonymous said...

Basically, a grown woman, not a girl, got the shot of a lifetime and she blew it, period. It's fine that she was a fan of Anderson and that she wanted to work on 360. It's what she did once she got the opportunity that's ridiculous, and trying to portray her as some poor innocent that got picked on by CNN is absurd.

She signed a damned confidentiality agreement, and anyone with half a brain in their head should understand that means *not* talking about what she did at work. Not the stories she helped with, not researching, not photocopying, nothing!

And the fact that she talked about Anderson in any way on the internet sealed the deal for her. It doesn't matter how nice she said he was, or the other people she worked with, or how much she enjoyed the job. For that reason alone she should have kept her mouth shut. She also put another black mark on Anderson fans, the man already deals with an incredible amount of creepy shit, serious stalking, and this feeds it.

She deserved what she got, she screwed up and lost her opportunity. CNN was in the right on this. To then agree to publicize it through Eliza's blog and then sending this shit over to Huff for further publicity is the exact reason why it got splashed all over the internet and why she gets trashed to this day. That in itself shows her lack of judgment and that CNN made the right decision. There were plenty of other interns younger than her who didn't make the same mistake. She was completely unprofessional, end of story.

Anonymous said...

Some mean-spirited person decided to inform CNN about her posts. That's the ONLY reason she was fired.

END OF STORY.

Anonymous said...

She got fired because of what she DID!

If she hadn't done it, she wouldn't have been CAUGHT!

END OF STORY.

Anonymous said...

Agreed. Time to move on. Really, nobody was arguing the right or wrong of what she did anyway, or where blame was to lay. All that was being argued was the BS rumors flying around about her being a stalker or creepy or crazy or whatever, which were clearly not true. Right and wrong are much less clear and not worth arguing anymore, since each side has argued their piece kind of ad nauseum at this point.

Anonymous said...

Alright, alright. This is old already and we're going in circles. Can we move on to something else? Please?
